|LCDR Aron Rotklein
Lt. Cmdr. Aron Rotklein, an Alexandria, Virginia native, is a 2005 graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics.
His first sea assignment was aboard USS Cleveland (LPD 7) from July 2005 to September 2007 as the Gunnery Officer. While aboard, Lt. Cmdr. Rotklein completed a deployment to 5th and 7th fleet areas of operation in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
After successfully completing his first tour, Lt. Cmdr. Rotklein served aboard USS Sterett (DDG 104) as the Strike Officer from October 2007-October 2009. During his time aboard, he commissioned the ship and led his division through an arduous training cycle prior to the ship’s maiden deployment.
From October 2009 until October 2013, Lt. Cmdr. Rotklein served as the assistant operations and logistics officer for the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations’ Project Handclasp, located in San Diego, Calif. During his tour, approximately 5,000 pallets of humanitarian assistance/disaster relief materials were sent to more than 60 countries, including support for relief efforts during Operation Tomadachi after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and Operation Unified Response after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
His most recent sea assignment was aboard USS Gridley (DDG 101). Lt. Cmdr. Rotklein reported as the Weapons Officer and upon completion of his first Department Head tour, he continued his service aboard as the Combat Systems Officer. While aboard, he led his department through the ship’s deployment to the 5th and 7th Fleet Areas of Operation in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
Lt. Cmdr. Rotklein is currently serving as Executive Officer aboard USS Gridley (DDG 101).
