CDR Mark Nieswiadomy
Executive Officer

Commander Mark Nieswiadomy is a native of Fort Worth, Texas. He is a 1991 graduate of Texas Christian University where he earned Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Political Science and History. He received his commission in 1996 from Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. He is also a graduate of the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California, where he earned a Masters of Arts Degree in National Security Affairs in 2003 and was a recipient of the Louis D. Liskin Award for Excellence in Regional Security Studies. His current assignment is as Executive Officer, USS GRIDLEY (DDG 101).

CDR Nieswiadomy’s sea tours include: commissioning Boilers Officer on USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6), Chief Engineer on USS SHRIKE (MHC 62), commissioning Operations Officer on USS BAINBRIDGE (DDG 96) and Operations Officer on USS COWPENS (CG 63).

Ashore CDR Nieswiadomy served as Flag Secretary and Assistant Chief of Staff for Administration and Personnel (N1) for Commander, Task Force SEVEN SIX / Expeditionary Strike Group SEVEN in Okinawa, Japan, and as Maritime Strike Officer (CJ3) for Commander, Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO in Naples, Italy.

CDR Nieswiadomy’s awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Achievement Medal and various unit and service awards.
