CDR Timothy Long
Commanding Officer

CDR Long, a native of Enterprise, AL, graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1998. In 2005, he earned a Master of Business Administration at the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business.

Commander Long's at-sea assignments include First Lieutenant and Navigator in USS Princeton (CG 59) and Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer in USS Bunker Hill (CG 52).

His first shore assignment was to OPNAV Deep Blue as an action officer.

His post-department head shore tours include Defense Legislative Fellow in the U.S. Senate; congressional liaison for Surface Warfare, Amphibious, and Military Sealift shipbuilding programs in the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs; and Assistant Deputy Director, Navy Flag Officer Management and Distribution.
