ITC Jeremiah Cleveland
Senior Enlisted Leader
Chief Petty Officer Cleveland, a native of Costa Mesa, California, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March 2001 and reported to boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon graduation from boot camp, he reported to Training Support Center Great Lakes for Fire Controlman Common Core Training and subsequent FC A School. He then completed Mk 160 C School at Dam Neck, VA in May 2002.
His first tour of duty was aboard USS PORTER (DDG 78) home ported in Norfolk, VA. While attached to USS PORTER, he completed one combat deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Additionally, he advanced to the rank of Second Class Petty Officer, cross-rated to Information Systems Technician and transferred to USS NASSAU (LHA 4) in December 2005. Aboard NASSAU, then IT2 Cleveland assumed duties as the Assistant Leading Petty Officer for the Automated Data Processing Division. In 2007, IT2 Cleveland reported to his first shore duty assignment at NAVCOMTELSTA, San Diego.
While attached to NCTS SD, he advanced to First Class Petty Officer and served as the N5 Department LPO. In 2010, he reported for sea duty onboard USS CAPE ST. GEORGE (CG 71) serving as acting Leading Chief Petty Officer for CC Division. He led his division during two Western Pacific deployments; one of which completed a nine-month circumnavigational deployment. He was then assigned for duty at UNITED STATES PACIFIC COMMAND, where he was informed of his selection to Chief Petty Officer and was accepted on September 13, 2013. Chief Cleveland is currently serving as the Senior Enlisted Leader of Amphibious Squadron FIVE embarked onboard USS BOXER (LHD-4).
Chief Petty Officer Cleveland's personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various campaign and service medals.
