Senior Enlisted Leader
Senior Chief Rauch, a native of The Dalles, Oregon, began his Naval career at RTC Great Lakes, Illinois on July 25, 1988, graduating in October 1988. After graduation, OSCS Rauch completed Operations Specialist ’A’ School in Dam Neck, Virginia. He served his initial sea duty tour onboard USS NASSAU (LHA-4) in Norfolk, Virginia from July 1989 to July 1992. He separated from Active Duty upon completion of his initial enlistment.
He rejoined the U.S. Navy in March 1995 and attended Operations Specialist Intermediate School. In April of 1995 he was detailed to USS SOUTH CAROLINA (CGN-37) 1995-1999 where he successfully graduated from Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) school. Follow on assignments include USS HALYBURTON (FFG-40) 1999, Naval Center for Tactical Systems Interoperability Detachment TWO (NCTSI DET TWO) 1999-2001 and USS LEYTE GULF (CG-55) 2001-2003 all out of Norfolk, Virginia.
He served his initial shore duty tour at Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center Pacific (FLTASWTRACENPAC) as an Instructor for Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) Course, Single Ship Anti-Submarine Warfare Course, Anti-Submarine Warfare Evaluator Course and Course Manager for Surface Ship Anti-Submarine Warfare Specialist Course 2003-2006, Naval Coastal Warfare Squadron FIVE (NCWRON-5) as the Operations Leading Chief Petty Officer 2006-2008, Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron FIVE (MSRON-5) as the Senior Enlisted Leader and Operations Leading Chief Petty Officer 2008-2009, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (COMNECC)/Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center (ECRC) 2009-2010 with concurrent tours at Individual Augmentee Combat Training (NIACT)/Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Multi National Corps-Iraq (MNC-I), United States Forces-Iraq (USF-I) as the Current Operations Non-Commissioned Officer-In-Charge (NCOIC) and Assistant Operations Security (OPSEC) Manager for Iraq, Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command (NMAWC) as Training and Assessments Leading Chief Petty Officer and Senior ASTAC Manager. He is currently serving at Commander Amphibious Squadron FIVE as N3 Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and Senior Enlisted Leader.
Senior Chief Rauch attained an Associate’s degree in Administrative Studies from Thomas Edison State College. He is authorized to wear the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Six Awards), Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal (6 Awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Expert Rifleman Medal, Expert Pistol Shot Medal, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Specialist and various campaign and unit awards.
