Senior Chief Petty Officer William C Gallagher is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He enlisted in the United States Navy on February 17, 1993, reporting to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of recruit training he attended Operations Specialist “A” School Dam Neck, Virginia.

OSCS Gallagher’s at sea tours include USS KIDD (DDG-993) from 1993 to 1997, USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG-51) from 2000 to 2004, USS MCFAUL (DDG-74) from 2007-2011, and USNS PATUXENT (T-AO 201) from 2011-2013.

Assignments ashore included: Operations Specialist “A” School Instructor, FCTCLANT Dam Neck, Virginia from 1997-2000, Afloat Training Group Western Pacific Yokosuka, Japan from 2005-2007 and Navy Information Forces from 2013-2016.

In May 2016, he reported to Commander Amphibious Squadron 11 Sasebo, Japan assigned to the N3 department where he assists in Current Operations support for the 7th Fleet Amphibious Readiness Group. In January 2018 Senior Chief Petty Officer Gallagher was assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Commander Amphibious Squadron 11.

Senior Chief Gallagher’s personal awards include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 gold stars) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 gold stars).
