|CAPT Patrick V. Foege
CAPT Foege, a native of St. Louis, MO, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1992 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Weapons and Systems Engineering. Following Naval Aviation Flight training in Pensacola, FL and designation as a helicopter pilot, he received training in the venerable H-46 Sea Knight.
CAPT Foege's sea duty assignments include an initial tour with Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Eleven (HC-11) deploying aboard USS ESSEX (LHD-2) with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and a ship's company tour with USS BOXER (LHD-4) deploying to the 5th and 7th Fleet Areas of Operation. He served as Administrative Officer and Maintenance Officer with the Black Stallions of HC-4 in Sigonella, Sicily and led detachments as an Officer-in-Charge to locations throughout Europe flying the H-53.
He served as Executive Officer and then Commanding Officer of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Ten (HS-10) flying the H-60F/H in San Diego, CA. Following his command tour, CAPT Foege deployed as Air Officer aboard USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD-6) and completed a hull swap with USS ESSEX in Sasebo, Japan.
CAPT Foege reported aboard Amphibious Squadron ONE as the Deputy Commander in December 2014.
His shore assignments include flight instructor duty with Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Three (HC-3) where he earned Instructor of the Year. He was also assigned to U.S. Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, HI as the Deputy Executive Assistant to the Commander. He completed a Joint Duty assignment at U.S. Transportation Command where he served in the Operations and Plans Directorate and served as the Deputy Executive Assistant to the Commander. His most recent shore assignment was at Third Fleet in the Operations Directorate.
CAPT Foege holds a Master of Science degree in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego.
