About Us General InformationMine Countermeasures Squadron Seven is a combined readiness and tactical staff reporting directly to the Commander, Amphibious Force Seventh Fleet (CTF 76).
The squadron consists of MCMRON7 staff, USS Avenger (MCM 1), USS Defender (MCM 2), USS Guardian (MCM 5), USS Patriot (MCM 7), and Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 14 Det 1 (HM-14).
COMCMRON SEVEN was formerly known as COMCMRON ONE and was homeported at Ingleside, Texas prior to being forward deployed to Sasebo, Japan in January 2010.
MCMRON7 participates in numerous mine countermeasures exercises with its partners throughout the Pacific region.
Since 6 September 2012, the commanding officer of MCMRON7 has been Captain Mark Truluck.
Mission The mission of Mine Countermeasures Squadron Seven is to conduct integrated MCM operations using Air, Surface, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal assets in both exercise and regional conflict scenarios throughout the U.S. Seventh Fleet Area of Responsibility.
The mission objective is to provide safe channels for U.S. and allied shipping in addition to freedom of navigation operations for U.S. and allied naval forces in areas susceptible to enemy mining.
