Congratulations! You joined an organization with an honored tradition and a bright future. MCMRON FIVE is a forward-deployed U.S. Naval Forces Central Command element, charged in its operational role as CTF-52 with maintaining freedom of navigation across 96,912 sq. miles of international waters in the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility. CTF-52 conducts operations with four forward-deployed MCM-1 Avenger Class Mine Countermeasures Vessels, HM-15 MH-53E helicopters, EOD MCM platoons, unmanned systems, and other vessels assigned to the deployed Combined Maritime Forces commands.
Sea mines have been utilized in every major campaign since the U.S. Revolutionary War. The sea mine is the adversary’s primary tool to disrupt maritime commerce. CTF-52/MCMRON FIVE assure unencumbered access for U.S. and Coalition Navies to conduct maritime security operations and commercial maritime traffic to transit the global commons. As a CTF-52/MCMRON FIVE member, you contribute to promoting security and stability, and shaping U.S. 5th Fleet interests.
