Master Chief Tony Guerin, a native of Zachary, Louisiana, enlisted in the United States Navy in December of 1987. Upon completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, San Diego, he reported to Naval Technical Training Center, Treasure Island, San Francisco where he completed Damage Controlman “A” School
Upon graduation, he reported for duty on board USS WORDEN (CG 18), Pearl Harbor Hawaii. His sea duty assignments include NAVCOMTELSTA, Diego Garcia, USS ESTOCIN (FFG 15) USNR, USS VELLA GULF (CG72), USS TYPHOON (PC5), Norfolk, Virginia, USS KITTYHAWK (CV 63) Yokosuka, Japan, MCM CREW EXULTANT, USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18) and HELICOPTER MARITIME STRIKE SQUADRON SEVEN ONE in San Diego, California. Master Chief Guerin completed shore assignments at Shore intermediate Maintenance Activity, Norfolk, Virginia and Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tennessee.
Master Chief Guerin is a graduate of the Air Force Senior NCO course and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Capstone Course. He has also earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare and Aviation Warfare qualifications.
His decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal (3 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
