CDR Burgos graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1993 with a B.S in General Science. As a Surface Warfare Officer, his first sea tour was on the USS GEORGE PHILIP (FFG 12) where he served as Damage Control Assistant and Ordnance Officer. A subsequent Division Officer tour was served on the USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62) as Combat Information Center Officer. As a Department Head, CDR Burgos served on the USS PRINCETON (CG 59) as the Weapons and Combat Systems Officer. For his Executive Officer tour, he served as the Chief Staff Officer for Commander Maritime Prepositioning Squadron TWO forward deployed to Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory. CDR Burgos then transferred to the USS BOXER (LHD 4) where he served as the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems and Information (C5I) Officer.
CDR Burgos’ shore tours include attendance at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA where he earned a M.S. in Space Systems Operations. He also served on the Commander Naval Surface Forces Staff as the Force Combat Systems Officer.
