CDR John Moe
Chief Staff Officer

His first tour of duty was aboard USS WILLAMETTE (AO-180), where he served as Assistant First Lieutenant and First Division Officer. In August 1999, CDR Moe reported to USS CUSHING (DD-985), forward deployed in Yokosuka, Japan, where he served as the Auxiliaries Officer.

In December 2003, CDR Moe reported to USS COMSTOCK (LSD-45) as the Chief Engineer. While on COMSTOCK, he deployed to the Northern Arabian Gulf in support of maritime security operations with the BELLEAU WOOD Expeditionary Strike Group. In June 2005, he reported onboard USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG-57) as Chief Engineer. While on LAKE CHAMPLAIN, he deployed with the REAGAN Carrier Strike Group in summer of 2006. In December 2006, he was selected to attend the CommCDR John Moe was raised in San Diego, California. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1996.

and General and Staff College (CGSC) in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. His last shipboard assignment was on USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD-6) as the Damage Control Assistant.

CDR Moe shore tours include NRD San Diego/NORS Las Vegas as an officer recruiter, US Southern Command as a strategic analyst and Executive Officer to the Director of Resources and Assessments (J8), Afloat Training Group Pacific as the Director of Training, and USNAVCENT/COMFIFTHFLT as Assistant Chief of Staff of Resources and Requirements (N8).

  CDR Moe awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal; Meritorious Service Medal; Navy Commendation Medal; Navy Achievement Medal and various unit and service awards.
