A native of Mobile, Alabama, Master Chief Fasano joined the United States Navy in December 1986. Master Chief Fasano attended Boot Camp and 'A' school in San Diego. After his initial training he was assigned to the Fleet Marines Forces.
After completing training as an Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman (Surface) in 1993, Master Chief Fasano served as the Senior Medical Department Representative (SMDR) and Battalion Chief for the 1st BN 4th Marines. He then transferred in 1996 to USS RENTZ (FFG 46) serving as SMDR.
In 1998, he was selected for the duty as a medical department instructor and inspector for Afloat Training Group (ATG), Pacific. He served as the Department Leading Chief for Medical and as the Medical Program Manager for the Afloat Training standardization in MIDPAC and WESTPAC for ATG.
In 2000, he was assigned as the Medical Director for 5th and 7Th Fleet assets for Military Sealift Command Office, Singapore. Returning to sea in 2003 he was assigned as the SMDR for the USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53). Master Chief Fasano was selectively detailed from sea to the Naval Forces Europe / SIXTH Fleet staff in 2005. During this tour he served as the acting SIXTH Fleet Surgeon. In February 2006 he was selected as one of the first Command Senior Chief's in the United States Navy. Master Chief Fasano was assigned as the Command Senior Chief for Mine Counter Measures Crew DOMINANT in February 2007. While serving aboard DOMINANT he was selected to his current rank of Master Chief. After departing Crew DOMINANT he was assigned as the CMC for Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound.
Master Chief Fasano was the "Peter Tomich" Distinguished Military Graduate from the Senior Enlisted Academy, class 97. He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Insignia, Naval Aircrew wings and Fleet Marine Force device. He has numerous personal and unit awards.
