CDR Warren Hakes
Executive Officer

Commander Warren Hakes is a native of DeRuyter, NY, and a 2000 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Computer Science.

At sea, CDR Hakes served as Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer in USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) and Reactor Electrical Division Officer in USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75). He later served as Weapons Officer and Operations Officer in USS McCAMPBELL (DDG 85) and Main Propulsion Assistant in USS GEORGE H. W. BUSH (CVN 77).

Ashore, CDR Hakes served as a Ship’s Officer, Drill Division Officer and RDC “C” School Officer at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes and completed joint duty as an Emergency Actions Officer at USSTRATCOM in Omaha, NE. CDR Hakes is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management.

His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Naval Achievement Medal and numerous unit and campaign awards. CDR Hakes assumed his present duties as Executive Officer, USS PORT ROYAL (CG 73) in December 2014.
