LCDR Shane Dennis
Executive Officer

LCDR Shane Dennis is from King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. He is a 2003 graduate of the University of Utah where he received his commission through the NROTC program.

A surface warfare officer, he has deployed across the globe in mine countermeasure, cruiser and amphibious assault ships. His previous afloat assignments include Commanding Officer of USS Chief (MCM 14) in Sasebo, Japan. Executive Officer in USS Defender (MCM 2), Engineer Officer in USS Patriot (MCM 7), Main Propulsion Assistant in USS Gettysburg (CG 64), and Assistant First Lieutenant and Electrical Officer in USS Essex (LHD 2).

Ashore, Dennis served as Officer-in-Charge of a Military Transition Team supporting the 8th Iraqi Army Division in Ad Diwaniyah, Iraq and as the Knowledge Management Branch Chief at Headquarters United States European Command in Stuttgart, Germany. He is a graduate of the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School and U.S. Naval War College resident program where he earned a Masters Degree in Defense and Strategic Studies.

His decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and other personal, service, unit and campaign awards.
