|CAPT Christopher J. Budde
CAPT Budde enlisted in the United States Navy in 1985 as an undesignated Seaman. He served in various afloat units from 1985 until 1990, advancing to Quartermaster First Class. In 1991, he was selected to the Enlisted Commissioning Program. CAPT Budde was commissioned an Ensign in October, 1993 through the NROTC Unit at Oregon State University.
Afloat he has served as Communications Officer and Auxiliaries Officer in USS RAMAGE (DDG 61), Weapons Officer, Operations Officer, and Combat Systems Officer in USS ANZIO (CG 68), Executive Officer in USS McCAMPBELL (DDG 85), Chief Staff Officer of Destroyer Squadron 21, Commanding Officer, USS GARY (FFG 51), and on the staff of the U.S. SEVENTH Fleet as Maritime Operations Center Director, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations (N3).
Most recently, he served on the staff of Carrier Strike Group FOUR as Current Operations Officer. Ashore, CAPT Budde served as an instructor and course supervisor at the AEGIS Training and Readiness Center, Dahlgren, VA and as a joint staff officer with the XVIII Airborne Corps in Iraq and Ft. Bragg, NC.
CAPT Budde holds a Bachelor’s Degree (History) from Oregon State University, a Master’s Degree (Security Studies) from Georgetown University, and a Master’s Degree (National Security Strategy) from the National War College. He is also a Joint Qualified Officer.
His personal awards include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Navy Good Conduct Medal.
