LCDR Roderick D. Magee
Executive Officer (September 2013 - March 2015)

LCDR Roderick D. Magee is a native of Moss Point, MS. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the Citadel, Military School of South Carolina. After his commissioning he attended the Surface Warfare Officer Division Officer Course in Newport, RI.

LCDR Magee’s first sea tour was as Ordnance Officer, Combat Information Center Officer, and Assistant Operations Officer aboard USS MITSCHER (DDG 57) from December 2000 to August 2004. His Department Head tour began as Weapons Officer onboard USS CURTIS WILBUR (DDG 54) in October 2007, and he became Combat Systems Officer a year later. Under his tenure as Combat Systems Officer, CURTIS WILBUR was selected as the Spokane Trophy Award Winner.

LCDR Magee reported to Navy Air and Missile Defense Command as Deputy N8 responsible for Requirements and Assessments IAMD in November 2010. Afterwards he was chosen to fill the Flag Aide position at Navy Air and Missile Defense Command in June, 2012.

LCDR Magee has been awarded the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and the Navy Achievement Medal. He completed a rigorous Master’s program earning a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering at Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. While at NPS he also completed JPME Phase I.
