Senior Chief Jaime Lazo is a native of Middletown, RI and grew up in the Philippines. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January 1994 completing Basic Training in Orlando, Florida.

Senior Chief Lazo’s sea duty includes service in USS HEWITT (DD 966), forward deployed in Yokosuka, Japan from 1994 to 1997. He was part of the decommissioning crew of USS HARRY W. HILL (DD 986) in San Diego, CA in 1997 until transfer to JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG 53), serving there from 1998 to 2000. He then transferred to USS JOHN S. McCain (DDG 56), forward deployed in Yokosuka, Japan from 2000 to 2002. He continued sea duty in USS PORT ROYAL (CG 73) from 2005 to 2008, USS CURTIS WILBUR (DDG 54) from 2008 to 2010 and USS CHOSIN (CG 65) from 2010 to 2011. He served as Engineering Department LCPO in USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) from 2011 to 2013 and USS CHOSIN (CG 65) from 2013 to 2016.

During his only shore duty, he attended MA ”C” school in San Antonio, TX and served as a Section Watch Commander of the Naval Security Force Bahrain from 2002 to 2005.

Senior Chief Lazo is currently serving as USS CHOSIN’s Senior Enlisted Leader.

His personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy Achievement Medal (6 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
