Command Master Chief Bryan K. Hawkins
Command Master Chief (Relieved August 2012)

Command Master Chief Bryan K. Hawkins graduated in 1987 from Harry Ellis High School in Richmond, California. He enlisted under the delayed entry program in January 1987. Immediately after graduating high school, he enlisted as a Seaman Recruit, completing Recruit Training and Radioman “A” and “C” Schools in San Diego, California.

His duty assignments include:

Master Chief’s first duty assignment was onboard the USS Cochran (DDG 21) and other assignments have included USS Hewitt (DD 966), NAVCOMTELSTA Yokosuka Japan, USNS Pecos (T-OA 197), USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), USS Vandergrift (FFG 48), USS Chancellorsville (CG-62) and Defense Information Systems Pacific where he served as Systems Control Officer (SCO) and acting Command Master Chief.

He is a graduate from the U.S. Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 121, Green) and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course in Newport, RI. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems management from Grantham University.

Command Master Chief Hawkins reported to USS COWPENS in July 2009. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medals (3), Navy Achievement Medals (2), Good Conduct Medals (5), Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and numerous campaign and unit awards.
