CMDCM (SW/AW) Patricia Garcia
Command Master Chief (June 2012 - December 2013)

Command Master Chief Patricia Garcia is a native of East Los Angeles, California and enlisted in the Navy on August 20, 1990. Upon completion of Recruit Training in Orlando, Florida she attended and successfully completed Personnelman “A” School and reported to her first duty station, USS CAPE COD (AD 43).

While onboard USS CAPE COD she completed three western pacific deployments to include “Operation Desert Storm/ Shield and Operation Southern Watch” during which time she was promoted to Third Class Petty Officer.

In January 1995 she reported to PSD NAVAL STATION San Diego where she advanced to Second Class Petty Officer. Following that tour she reported to USS COMSTOCK (LSD 45) in April 1999 where she deployed two more times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. During her tenure onboard COMSTOCK she earned her Enlisted Surface Warfare designator and cross decked to USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD 52) in 2000 where she was advanced to First Class Petty Officer.

After reporting in July 2002 to Navy Recruiting District Los Angeles as an Enlisted Classifier she was advanced to Chief Petty Officer in September 2002. In May 2005 she reported to USS KIDD as the Admin/Personnel Officer and NAV/X Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. It is onboard KIDD that she was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2006.

In December 2007 she reported to USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) as the Admin Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and Assistant Personnel Officer. While stationed there she earned her Enlisted Air Warfare designator and was awarded the FIVE STAR STENNIS LEADERSHIP AWARD in 2008.

Upon selection by the FY11 Command Senior Chief Program she was assigned to USS INDEPENDENCE (LCS 2) (BLUE CREW) and advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer shortly after reporting.

She is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 157 Gray) and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course.

Master Chief Garcia has been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (10 awards), and various campaign and service medals.
