CMDCM(SW/AW) Martin J. Barnholtz
Command Master Chief

Command Master Chief Martin Barnholtz is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. He entered active naval service in February 1987 and reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL. After completion Basic Training he attended Electronics Technician “A” School and was designated an Electronics Technician.

CMDCM Barnholtz served at sea in USS White Plains (AFS 4) (1988-1991), USS Inchon (MCS-12) (1996-1999), USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) (2002-2005), and USS Essex (LHD 2) (2010-2012).

Assignments ashore included Naval Computers and Telecommunications Area Master Station Western Pacific (Guam) (1991-1993), Service Schools Command Great Lakes ET “A” School (1993-1996), two tours at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi (1999-2002) (2005-2009), and an IA deployment to Qalat, Afghanistan ISO OEF (2007-2008).

In June 2012, he reported as Command Master Chief in USS Lake Champlain (CG 57).

He is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 150 and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Capstone, Class 101

Command Master Chief Barnholtz personal awards include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 gold stars), Army Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various service medals and ribbons.
