|CAPT Timothy Steadman
CAPT Timothy Steadman is from Mystic, CT and is a 1990 graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy where he earned a B.S. in Marine Engineering. He is also a 2003 graduate of the U.S. Naval War College.
CAPT Steadman’s initial assignment at sea was as a member of the pre-commissioning crew of USS HUE CITY (CG 66) where he served as Gunnery Officer and Main Propulsion Assistant. Other tours at sea include Chief Engineer in USS FORD (FFG 54) and USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62), Executive Officer in USS LABOON (DDG 58), and Chief Staff Officer of Destroyer Squadron 31.
Ashore, CAPT Steadman served as an instructor at the Surface Warfare Officers School, Division Officer Course, Section Head within the Joint Requirements and Acquisitions branch of the Navy Staff (OPNAV N810), and Program Manager within the Policy, Plans and Requirements directorate of the White House Military Office.
CAPT Steadman’s most recent assignment afloat was as the Commanding Officer of USS O’KANE (DDG 77). His most recent assignment ashore was as the Executive Assistant to the Director, Navy Staff.
His personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and several unit-level awards.
