Command Master Chief
Command Master Chief Belmares is a native of Dallas, Texas. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 7 January 1987 and attended Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida. Upon completion of basic training, he attended Yeoman "A" School in Meridian, Mississippi.
His previous shore duty assignments include; Recruit Training Command, San Diego, California, Navy Recruiting District, San Diego, California and Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command, Coronado California. During his tour at COMNAVSPECWARCOM, he served as the Force Administration Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, where he administratively supported two flag officers, 300 staff personnel and seven subordinate commands. He was advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer in 2008 and was selected to the U.S. Navy's Command Master Chief Program in 2009.
His previous sea duty assignments include; USS MEYERKORD (FF 1058), USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62), USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) and USS DECATUR (DDG 73). During his tour onboard DECATUR, he served as Command Master Chief, where he completed two deployments to the Western Pacific and North Arabian Gulf in support of “Operation Iraqi Freedom” and “Operation New Dawn”, including, a Joint Operation to the Northern Pacific in support of “Operation Northern Edge”.
On 19 April 2012, he reported to USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) as Command Master Chief. His personal awards include; Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eight awards) and numerous unit and campaign awards. He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 124 GOLD) and Command Master Chief Capstone Course (Class 058).
