Executive Officer

Commander Hazlett is a native of Scottsdale, AZ. She was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer in 1999 from the University of Arizona Navy ROTC in Tucson, AZ.
Her initial sea assignment was to the USS VELLA GULF (CG 72) as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer where she deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT Battlegroup. Her second assignment was to the USS JUNEAU (LPD 10) as the Training Officer serving in the Forward Deployed Naval Force. As a Department Head she served as the Operations Officer onboard USS MAHAN (DDG 72) deploying as the flagship for the Standing NATO Maritime Group and as an Independent deployer to C5F and also as the Operations Officer for Amphibious Squadron SIX deploying in support of Operation Unified Response after the Haiti earthquake.
Ashore, Commander Hazlett served as the Training Officer at Assault Craft Unit FOUR earning her Master’s degree in Business Administration, a member of the Technology Studies Group at Navy Information Operations Center Norfolk, and as a member of the Operations Department at Expeditionary Strike Group TWO. She most recently served as the Future Operations Officer at COMNAVSURFLANT.
Her personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (eight awards), Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
