Midshipmen Experience COMPTUEX Aboard USS Sampson
PACIFIC OCEAN (NNS) -- Thirteen Canadian and American midshipmen are spending their month-long summer training aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Sampson (DDG 102) while the ship is underway.
SURFPAC Hosts Women's Symposium
Vice Adm. Thomas S. Rowden, commander of Naval Surface Forces, delivered the opening remarks for the symposium. He encouraged Sailors to work together to change the surface navy for the better and to eliminate issues going forward. A philosophy that is supported by the theme for this year’s symposium, “Leading With Purpose: Impacting Our Future”.
SMWDC visits USS Bunker Hill
Modeled after the success of the Navy Strike and Air Warfare Center (Top Gun), SMWDC is increasing the tactical proficiency of the surface warfare community by plucking an elite cadre of SWOs to become specialized warfighters called Warfare Tactics Instructors (WTI).
