USS Howard Conducts Naval Ship Fire Support
 
PACIFIC OCEAN (Apr. 11, 2017) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83) fires a a Mk. 45 five-inch gun during a live fire exercise. Howard is currently underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike groupÕs assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
