CDS 9 - Destroyer Squadron NINE concluded four months of operations in the North Arabian Sea, Arabian Gulf, Mediterranean Sea and Indian Ocean with the ABRAHAM LINCOLN Strike Group in mid-February.

CDS 9 - Destroyer Squadron NINE concluded four months of operations in the North Arabian Sea, Arabian Gulf, Mediterranean Sea and Indian Ocean with the ABRAHAM LINCOLN Strike Group in mid-February. Since October 2010, the ships and staff of DESRON NINE have executed a wide variety of missions over an area larger than the continental United States. From Counter-Piracy patrols off the coast of Somalia to the defense of USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN, while from her decks aircraft from Carrier Air Wing TWO supported ground operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, DESRON NINE answered all bells. (U.S. Navy photo by YN2 Marie M.
