DESRON NINE Sailors of the Quarter 
EVERETT, WA – USS INGRAHAM, USS SHOUP, and USS MOMSEN underway during a Destroyer Squadron NINE exercise. All three ships are based in Everett, WA. Destroyer Squadron NINE also includes USS FORD and USS RODNEY M. DAVIS in Everett, WA, and USS STERETT and USS Halsey in San Diego, CA. Destroyer Squadron NINE provides surface and sub-surface defense for the Abraham Lincoln Strike Group, and conducts independent ship deployments throughout the world.

29 Jul - Destroyer Squadron NINE selected the Third Quarter FY 2011 Sailors of the Quarter: BM1 (SW) Michael Zgoda (USS INGRAHAM), Senior Sailor of the Quarter; HM2 (FMF) Richard Vaughn (USS FORD), Sailor of the Quarter; HM3 (SW) Claudia Duranramos (USS MOMSEN), Junior Sailor of the Quarter; and BMSN (SW) Mark Deguzman (USS INGRAHAM), Blue Jacket of the Quarter.

These Sailors were selected following a review board, led by Destroyer Squadron NINE senior enlisted advisor, OSCS (SW) McCormick. All Destroyer Squadron NINE ships’ Sailors of the Quarter were reviewed for their accomplishments in command involvement, qualifications, community service, outside education and other factors. After ranking all Sailors and providing the board’s recommendation, Commodore Capt. Carol Hottenrott reviewed and approved each selectee.
