COMDESRON NINE Announces Sailor of the 1st 2011 Quarter

April 29, 2011 - Destroyer Squadron NINE selected the Second Quarter FY 2011 Sailors of the Quarter, PS1 (SW) Billy Spillers, USS MOMSEN (DDG-92), Senior Sailor the Quarter; CS2 (SW) Antonio Morton, USS MOMSEN (DDG-92), Sailor of the Quarter; GSE3 (SW) Margaret Darton, USS STERETT (DDG-104), Junior Sailor of the Quarter; and ENFA Crystal Gomez, USS HALSEY (DDG-97), Blue Jacket of the Quarter.

The Sailors were selected following a review board, led by Destroyer Squadron NINE senior enlisted advisor, OSCS (SW) McCormick.  All DESRON NINE ships’ Sailors of the Quarter were reviewed for their accomplishments in command involvement, qualifications, community service, outside education and other factors.  After ranking all Sailors and providing the board’s recommendation, Commodore Carol Hottenrott and Deputy Commodore Mark Johnson reviewed and approved each selectee for Sailor of the Quarter.
