Captain Will Triplett is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and is a 1989 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and was commissioned as an Ensign. Captain Triplett also earned a Master's Degree in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1997.

Captain Triplett served at sea as OI Division and ASW officer in USS VINCENNES (CG 49), Electrical Officer, Damage Control Assistant and Main Propulsion Assistant in USS LAKE ERIE (CG 70), Weapons and Combat Systems Officer in USS COWPENS (CG 63), Executive Officer in USS CROMMELIN (FFG 37), and Commanding Officer of USS McCAMBPELL (DDG 85). He served ashore on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations in the Assessment Division (N81) where he was the MPTE and Readiness Section Head and as a member of the Commander’s Action Group at U.S. Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany. He was most recently assigned to the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations where he was the DDG 51 FLT III Section Head and the Destroyers Branch Head in the Surface Warfare Directorate (N86).

Captain Triplett’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three Gold Stars, the Navy Commendation Medal with one Gold Star, and the Navy Achievement Medal with one Gold Star.
