|CDR Lex Walker
A native New Yorker, Commander Lex Walker began his naval service in 1989 by entering the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) Program. Upon completing BOOST he attended The Jacksonville University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Communications. Commander Walker was commissioned on December 16, 1994.
Commander Walker has served at sea as Communications Officer and First Lieutenant in USS ROBERT G. BRADLEY (FFG 49), Main Propulsion Assistant and Training Officer in USS HAYLER (DD 997), Engineer Officer in USS COLE (DDG 67) and USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55), Executive Officer in USS BULKELEY (DDG 84), and as Commanding Officer of USS STOCKDALE (DDG 106).
Commander Walker has served ashore as a DD/CG Gas Turbine Instructor at Surface Warfare Officer School in Newport, RI; as a Navy Washington, DC Intern (earning Master of Arts degrees in Organizational Management from The George Washington University and National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College), as a post-Department Head Detailer (PERS-411C) at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, TN; and as the Deputy for Congressional Affairs at US European Command.
Commander Walker has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, six Navy Commendation Medals, and various unit and service awards.
