Captain John T. Beaver, Jr. attended the University of Mississippi as a NROTC Midshipman where he was commissioned following graduation in 1987.
His operational assignments include duty in USS Conyngham (DDG 17), USS Ingersoll (DD 990), USS Mobile Bay (CG 53), and as Commanding Officer of USS Avenger (MCM 1) and USS Bulkeley (DDG 84).
Ashore, he has served on the faculty of the U.S. Naval Academy, as a student at the U.S. Naval War College, on the staff of a U.S. Senator, the Commander U.S. European Command & Supreme Allied Commander Europe, the Chief of Naval Operations, in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and in the Executive Office of the President.
Captain Beaver has earned a BA in History, a MA in National Security and Strategic Studies, and was a Georgetown University Fellow.
