Command Master Chief (February 2010 - December 2013)

A native of Miami, Florida, Master Chief Kirchheiner graduated from High School in Brevard North Carolina in 1982 and enlisted in the Navy in JULY 1987 from Minneapolis Minnesota. He completed Recruit Training and Electronics Schools in San Diego California and completed Fire Controlmen “A” school in Great Lakes, Illinois.

Master Chief Kirchheiner was part of the re-commissioning crew for USS WISCONSIN (BB 64) in Pascagoula Mississippi, and home port shift to Norfolk Virginia. He served as a Maintenance man in USS CONOLLY (DD 979) Norfolk Virginia, Work center Supervisor in USS CARNEY (DDG 64) Mayport Florida. Forward deployed sea duty assignments serving as Leading Chief Petty Office and Strike Officer in Commander Naval Forces Europe, Commander Sixth Fleet embarked in USS LASALLE (AGF 3) and USS MOUNT WHITNEY (LCC/JCC 20) Gaeta Italy, and USS LASSIN (DDG 82) Yokosuka Japan.

Ashore, Master Chief Kirchheiner graduated Tomahawk and Harpoon “C” schools in Dam Neck Virginia and served as Leading Petty Officer Mater–at–arms security at Naval Air Station Meridian Mississippi.

Master Chief Kirchheiner has operational experience in the Atlantic, Pacific, Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Southwest Asia theaters and has conducted numerous deployments in support of several significant U.S. Operations, including Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, DESERT SHIELD, DESERT STORM, ENDURING FREEDOM, ACTIVE ENDEAVOR, JTF LEBANON and VIGILENT SENTINEL.

Master Chief Kirchheiner reported to COMDESRON FIFTEEN in February 2010 and is serving as the Command Master Chief and Strike Officer.

His decorations include the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal, as well as various other campaign and unit awards.
