|Master Chief Szydlowski
Command Master Chief (September 2009 - September 2011)
Master Chief Szydlowski enlisted in the Unites States Navy in Toledo, Ohio October 18, 1981. He completed Basic Recruit Training and Machinists Mate “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois.
Master Chief Szydlowski’s sea tours include USS FARRAGUT (DDG-37) from March 1982 to October 1985 completing a Mediterranean Sea deployment taking part in peacekeeping operations off the coast of Lebanon. Completing Air Conditioning and Refrigeration “C” School he was then assigned to RESOLUTE (AFDM-7) from February 1986 to July 1989. His next assignment served as Engine Room Leading Petty Officer in USS INCHON (LPH-12) from December 1993 to July 1996 taking part in Operation Restore Hope off the coast of Somalia and Operation Uphold Democracy. In March 1996 he completed the hull conversion of USS INCHON (LPH-12) to the United States Navy’s only Mine Countermeasure Command Ship USS INCHON (MCS-12). His next sea tour he reported to USS BATAAN serving as Main Propulsion LCPO from June 1999 to May 2003 completing three deployments and taking part in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. His last sea tour he served as 3M Coordinator/Logistics Officer in Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Six from July 2006 to Aug 2009 completing two tours in Iraq.
Master Chief’s shore tours include instructor duty at Engineering Systems Schools Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, from September 1989 to September 1993 earning his Master Training Specialists qualification; SIMA Ingleside, TX from July 1996 to July 1999 as SIMA Production Control Officer; COMNAVPERSCOM from May 2003 to May 2006 as Engineering/Hull Lead Detailer.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal (6 awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (2 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
