Command Master Chief (January 2014 - October 2015)
Master Chief Hineman is a native of Lithia Springs, GA. He enlisted in the United States Navy in November 1999. He completed Basic Recruit Training in Great Lakes, IL and attended Operations Specialist “A” school in Dam Neck, VA in April 2000.
Master Chief Hineman reported for his initial sea tour from April 2000 to June 2005 on USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52) in San Diego, CA. While stationed on “Vertical Swordsmen”, he completed three 7th/5th Fleet Deployments supporting Operations UNIFIED ASSISTANCE, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM. During this time he qualified as Air Intercept Controller, Tactical Data Link Coordinator, Combat Information Center Watch Officer, Interface Control Officer, and Anti-Air Warfare Coordinator. Additionally during this tour he advanced to First Class Petty Officer.
Master Chief Hineman transferred to Naval Recruiting District Seattle, WA in June 2005. During this tour he qualified as Zone Supervisor and successfully led the Midwest Zone in central Seattle. He was selected to join the Chief’s mess during this tour.
Master Chief Hineman’s next tour was on USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72) homeported in Everett, WA. During this tour he served as OI Division LCPO and Operations Department LCPO and qualified as Tactical Action Officer and completed two 7th/5th Fleet Deployments supporting Operation’s IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM. During this tour he was promoted to Senior Chief and Master Chief Petty Officer and was selected as the 2011 John C. Stennis Leadership Award Winner.
Master Chief Hineman reported to Afloat Training Group Western Pacific in Sept 2013 and assumed the duties as Command Master Chief in January 2014.
His personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (2 awards), and various unit campaign awards.
