Senior Enlisted Leader (October 2015 - December 2016)
Master Chief Sabas enlisted in the United States Navy in San Diego, CA June 27, 1988. She completed Basic Recruit Training in Orlando, Florida and Mess Management Specialist “A” School in San Diego, CA.
Master Chief Sabas sea tours include USS MCKEE (AS 41) from January 1991 to June 1994 as Jack of the Dust, Watch Captain and Records keeper while taking part in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm and qualifying in Surface Warfare. She then was assigned to USS COWPENS (CG 63) as the Wardroom Supervisor and Records keeper and earned the coveted Captain Edward F. NEY Award for outstanding Food Service while participating in Operation Enduring Freedom from January 2001 to January 2004. Her next sea tour served was onboard USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19) from March 2007 to March 2010. As the Leading CS and Wardroom Supervisor, she captured the Captain Edward F. NEY Award for outstanding Food Service two out of three years onboard. She then served onboard USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6) from April 2013 to Dec 2014 as Leading CS and once again earned the Captain Edward F. Ney Award for outstanding Food Service. She then transferred to Afloat Training Group, Western Pacific, where she serves as Senior Enlisted Leader.
Master Chief’s shore tours include Cook on Watch and Baker at NSA Millington, TN from September 1988 to December 1990; Recruiter and Classifier at NRD San Diego from June 1994 to October 1998; Front Desk Supervisor onboard NSA Naples, Italy from December 1998 to December 2000; Leading CS and Food Service Officer at NAF Atsugi, Japan, January 2004 to March 2007; Instructor at Navy Food Management Team San Diego from June 2010 to March 2013.
Master Chief Sabas personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (5 awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (5 awards) Combat Action Ribbon and various unit campaign awards.
