Command Master Chief (October 2010 - October 2012)

Master Chief Terry was raised in the Bronx, New York City, NY. After graduating from the High School of Fashion Industries, she enlisted in the Navy September 1, 1982 under the Delayed Entry Program and completed Basic Training at RTC Orlando, FL followed by Disbursing Clerk Class “A” School at NTTC, Meridian , MS.

Sea duty assignments include: PATRON FIVE ZERO (VP 50) where she complete two Pacific Indian Ocean deployments; USS MCKEE (AS 41) where she served as Travel and Fiscal Accountability Supervisor, qualifed Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and JOOD (UNDERWAY). USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19) where she joined Forward Deployed Naval Forces as Deputy Disbursing Officer; USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) as Pay and Personnel Leading Chief Petty Officer. During this tour, Master Chief transitioned fifty sailors through an Optimum Manning Experiment into the Personnel Specialist rating merger. As Command Master Chief of USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52), she promoted and maintained crew readiness during a 12-month overhaul, culminating in successful completion of the first ever Cruiser Modernization upgrade in the Navy.

Shore assignments include: Personnel Support Detachment NAS Moffett Field, CA; Personnel Support Detachment Naval Base San Diego,CA; Personnel Support Detachment Coronado, CA and Navy Recruiting District San Diego, CA. During her tour at Navy Recruiting District San Diego, she served as Medical, General and Nuclear Officer Recruiter for the entire Inland Empire and outlying desert communities.

Upon completion of her tour as Command Master Chief in USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52) she assumed duties as Command Master Chief of Afloat Training Group, San Diego April 2010.

Master Chief Terry is an Honor graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, (Class 98 Green) and CMC/COB course (Class 43). She earned an Associate of Science degree from Central Texas College and a Bachelors of Applied Science in Resources Technology Management from Troy University. Her personal awards include: Meritorius Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
