KOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (September 13, 2014) Chief Warrant Officer 3 Vanderla Akaka and Cryptologic Technician (Collection) First Class Brenda Flores pose for a photo with Commander Timothy Wilke, Commanding Officer of Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific (ATG MIDPAC) and Senior Chief Operations Specialist Jonathan Lamperth, ATG MIDPAC Senior Enlisted Leader, after receiving awards. Chief Warrant Officer 3 Vanderla Akaka was awarded the Thurgood Marshall Distinguished Military Leadership Award and Cryptologic Technician (Collection) First Class Brenda Flores was awarded the Ida B. Wells-Barnett Meritorious Community Service Award. These awards were given by the Honolulu-Hawaii Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) during the annual Military Leadership Awards luncheon at the Hickam Officers Club on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
