Command Master Chief (February 2011 - September 2013)
Master Chief Williams Resides from Charlotte, North Carolina. He entered the Navy in November 1985. His basic training was conducted in San Diego.
Previous duty assignments include: Surviving crew member of the USS BONEFISH (SS 582), the last diesel submarine which was lost off the coast of Florida. His next assignment was aboard the USS JAMES K. POLK (SSBN 645-G), followed by a tour in Connecticut where he served at Combined Bachelor Housing, Naval Submarine Base New London. He was selected Commander Submarine Force Atlantic Fleet Shore Sailor of the Year during this assignment. He was selected as a Chief Petty Officer in 1993.
Other assignments include the USS PASADENA (SSN 752), USS RENTZ (FFG 46), and the USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57) completing nine years of straight sea duty. Master Chief Williams’ next assignment was as an instructor for Navy Food Management Team, San Diego. He was selected to the Command Master Chief Program in 2005 where he assumed duties as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Fleet Industrial Supply Center, San Diego. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 122 and while at the Academy he earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration (with honors).
Master Chief Williams served as Command Master Chief, USS DUBUQUE (LPD 8) from April 2006 to March 2008. While aboard the USS DUBUQUE he successfully completed a nine month deployment with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. In March 2008 he was selected as Command Master Chief for USS PELELIU (LHA 5). Master Chief Williams reported to Assault Craft Unit FIVE in February 2011.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars, and seven Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
