Master Chief Rape hails from Killeen, Texas. He graduated from Killeen High School in 1990, and entered the United States Navy in 1991.

Master Chief Rape completed recruit basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes followed by Damage Control “A” School. His first assignment was onboard USS CIMARRON (AO 177) at Pearl Harbor, HI. Here served as the weld shop supervisor upon cross rating to Hull Maintenance Technician. His second duty station was Pearl Harbor Submarine base IMA which later converted to Navy Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Pearl Harbor. His time there was spent between the lagging shop and serving as a ship check supervisor in the sheet metal shop.

For his third tour, Master Chief Rape reported overseas onboard USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19) as the weld shop supervisor. During his fourth tour he served at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility as the Nondestructive Testing Shop Leading Petty Officer. His fifth tour was onboard USS BOXER (LHD 4) as Damage Control Maintenance Petty Officer Leading Chief Petty Officer. For his sixth tour he reported to Assault Craft Unit 5 for multiple positions between the weld shop, Quality Assurance, Drug and Alcohol Program Advisor, and Ground Operations Leading Chief Petty Officer.

For his seventh tour, Master Chief Rape returned overseas onboard USS EMORY S LAND (AS 39) as the Nondestructive Leading Chief Petty Officer. This was followed by his eighth tour onboard USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) as the Engineering Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. On his ninth and current tour, he began as the Maintenance Department Leading Chief Petty Officer before assuming the role of Command Master Chief at Assault Craft Unit 5.

Master Chief Rape has earned the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and various unit and campaign awards. He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (SW) and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (AW) device. In addition, he has earned his Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
