|CAPT Greg Vinci
Captain Vinci is a native of Rockaway, NJ. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in May 1993 and received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Construction Management) from The Pennsylvania State University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
Upon completing Civil Engineer Corps Officers School, Captain Vinci reported to his first duty assignment as Training Officer and Bravo Company Commander for Naval Mobile Construction Battalion SEVEN. Subsequent assignments included Architectural and Engineering Project Manager and an Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction at Public Works Office/Resident Officer In Charge of Construction Office, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; Flag Aide to the Commander, Atlantic Division, NAVFAC, Commander, Second Naval Construction Brigade, and the Director, Shore Activities Readiness, Commander-In-Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Virginia; Naval Station Norfolk Operations Officer/Flag Housing Officer at Public Works Center, Norfolk, Virginia; Mixed Commission Officer/Resident Officer In Charge of Construction at Engineering Field Activity Mediterranean, Naples, Italy; and Public Works Officer at Naval Air Station, Key West, Florida.
Captain Vinci’s recent tours have included Executive Officer of Amphibious Construction Battalion TWO at Joint Expeditionary Base, Little Creek, Virginia; the Sustainment, Restoration, Modernization Branch Head at Commander, Navy Installations Command, Washington, DC; and Public Works Officer at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti.
Captain Vinci reported to Amphibious Construction Battalion ONE this past August from Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific, Pearl Harbor, HI, where he was the Contingency Engineer since 2013.
Captain Vinci is qualified as a Seabee Combat Warfare Officer, registered Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina, and member of the Acquisition Professional Community. His personnel decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and other unit and service awards.
