|CAPT Eric M. Aaby
Captain Aaby is a native of Corpus Christi, TX. He graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and thereafter received his commission from Officer Candidate School, Newport, RI. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland and attended the Advanced Executive Program with the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
Captain Aaby’s tours have included Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC), Everett, WA; Charlie Company Commander and Training Officer with Amphibious Construction Battalion ONE in Coronado, CA; Department Head for Facilities Support Contracts and Utilities Director, Public Works Center Washington, DC; Engineering Instructor, United States Naval Academy; Director for Utilities and Leases, and ROICC, NSA Naples, Italy; Officer in Charge, Combat Service Support Detachment ONE, Coronado, CA; Executive Officer, Naval Construction Training Center in Port Hueneme, CA; Facilities Program Manager, Naval Network Warfare Command, Virginia Beach, VA; Public Works Officer, NS Norfolk and Hampton Roads Assistant Operations Officer, NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, Norfolk, VA; and Director for Construction, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy, Installations, and Environment).
Captain Aaby took command of Amphibious Construction Battalion ONE on July 12th, 2013.
Captain Aaby is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is a Seabee Combat Warfare Officer, a member of the Professional Acquisition Community, and Certified Energy Manager. His personal awards include three Meritorious Service Medals, seven Commendation Medals, a Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and other unit and service awards.
