The ARG is led by Commander, Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 3 and is comprised of the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5), amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), the amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47); support elements from Fleet Surgical Team 1, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23, Assault Craft Units (ACU) 1 and ACU 5, and Beach Master Unit (BMU) 1.

The Navy will commission amphibious transport dock ship, Anchorage, in her namesake city of Anchorage, Alaska, May 4, at 10 a.m. (AKDT), during a ceremony at the Port of Anchorage.

The Navy will commission its newest warship, USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112), October 6, 2012, in New York City.
Spring 2013 NROTC Ship Selection
Midshipmen and Officer Candidates find out their order of merit among their peers and get a call from a detailer at NPC to select the name of the first ship they will serve on in the U.S. Navy. This live web-based event is coordinated through NPC and each of the NROTC units to make a fun and interactive ship selection process that resembles USNA ship selection as closely as possible.
