120314-N-SV210-092 BAHRAIN (March 14, 2012) Vice Adm. Richard W. Hunt, Commander, Naval Surface Forces, tours engineering spaces aboard USS Makin Island (LHD 8) during an official visit and tour.  Hunt’s visit came while Makin Island was making a port visit to Bahrain.  Makin Island and the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit are deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
