Welcome to COMNAVSURFPAC PCO/PXO TYCOM INDOC
On behalf of the Commander, Naval Surface Forces Pacific, I would like to welcome you to the Prospective Commanding Officer Indoctrination Course (PCO INDOC). The PCO INDOC Course is a five-day course with briefings from VADM Copeman, our Chief of Staff, all of the CNSP Assistant Chiefs of Staff, and other pertinent briefers. Our goal is to ensure your time spent at SURFPAC is informative and worthwhile. The PCO Course Coordinators are CDR James "Jim" Walsh (619) 522-7684 and LT Ryan Roeling (619) 437-5032. Alternate point of contact is LCDR Kristopher Brazil at (619) 437-0878 or DSN 522-0878.
If you arrive in town during the weekend or on the Friday prior to a Monday start, you do not need to come by just to get your orders endorsed. We will take care of endorsements on the first day of TYCOM INDOC. If there is a long weekend involved due to a holiday, contact us in advance to ensure you are aware of any modified schedules. If your orders include any stash time at CNSF other than your TYCOM INDOC, please call LCDR Brazil ahead of time to discuss.
For TYCOM INDOC, PCO/PXOs should report NLT 0730 on the first day of class to Building 14, on Rendova Road. Uniform of the day is khaki or NWU. The parking area behind Building 11 is the best place to park. We do not reserve parking spaces. They are on a first come first serve basis, but are always readily available.
Facilities on the compound include the Navy Exchange, Armed Forces Bank, Subway, McDonald’s and NAB Galley. A refrigerator and microwave are available if you prefer to brown bag your lunch. You are welcome to enjoy lunch in our Flag Mess. A fitness center/gym is also available on base.
Incoming phone messages for you can be left with CDR Walsh or LT Roeling. NMCI unclassified computers are available upon request. Additional numbers include:
N1 FAX 619-437-2541 / DSN 577
Naval Amphibious Base Coronado BOQ 619-437-3860 / DSN 577
Naval Air Station North Island BOQ 619-545-7545 / DSN 577
If you require any information/assistance, please do not hesitate to call. Congratulations! We look forward to your arrival.
