2015 SOY Finalist (Shore) - YN1(SW/AW) Brandy D. Brossard
She enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 5 August 2002.

Her first shore duty tour was at Naval Submarine Base Point Loma in San Diego, California, where she served as a patrolman and field training officer. While stationed onboard NSB Point Loma she volunteered for I.A. duty in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as part of the Joint Detainee Operations Battalion.

Sea duty assignments have included: Lead Master-At-Arms Fighter Squadron VFA-195 in Atsugi, Japan, where she completed several RIMPAC deployments onboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) and USS George Washington (CVN-73). While onboard she served as a Watch Commander, Patrol Supervisor, Field Training Officer, Line Coach, SAPR, and a part of the training department. She participated in Operations TALISMAN, FOAL EAGLE, VAILANT SHEILD, RIMPAC and MALABAR.

She served at the security department at Naval Station Everett, Washington as a Watch Commander and also performed duties as VWAC, Assistant CIAC, Navy Marine Corps Fund Drive Command Key, Sponsorship Coordinator, Command Force Protection Team Member and Administrative Supervisor.

She received her Associates Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College in 2006 and her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia College in 2009. She is currently serving at COMNAVSURPAC as the Acting LCPO in the Staff Admin Office.

Petty Officer Brossard’s personal decorations include the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award Service, the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Sailor of the Year and various other service awards.
