George W. Davis, Jr., born 29 May 1933, hails from Columbia, South Carolina.  Davis attended the U.S. Naval Academy and subsequently earned an MS in Electrical Engineering at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey California. Vice Admiral George Davis, Jr. served as Commander Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet from July 1985 to August 1988.  He retired from the Navy as a Vice Admiral on October 1st 1988.
