LCDR Todd D. Levant Commanding Officer (April 2011 - July 2012) |
Lieutenant Commander Todd S. Levant is a Surface Warfare Officer. He was raised in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1998 with a B.S in Communication Disorders, in 1999 he earned a M.A. in speech Pathology from University of Illinois, and in 2007 he earned a M.A. in International Relations from Salve Regina University.
After the completion of Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL he spent six months in USS CARR (FFG 52) before attending Surface Warfare Officer’s School in Newport, RI. His first Division Officer tour was in USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) as Damage Control Assistant. His second Division Officer tour was in USS SENTRY (MCM 3) as the Operations Officer. His shore assignment was as an instructor at Surface Warfare Officer School Command. LCDR Levant served in USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6) as the Combat Systems Officer. LCDR Levant currently serves under the XO/CO Fleet Up Program as the Commanding Officer of the USS DEFENDER (MCM 2).
LCDR Levant has achieved the distinction of Master Training Specialist. LCDR Levant has completed Joint Professional Military Education Phase I. His military awards and decorations include a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and various other service and unit awards.
