LT Shane Dennis
Executive Officer

LT Shane Dennis, originally from King of Prussia, Pennsylvania was commissioned through the NROTC Program at the University of Utah in 2003. His afloat tours include USS ESSEX (LHD 2) as Electrical Officer and Assistant First Lieutenant; Main Propulsion Assistant in USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64) during which he was an Individual Augmentee as the Officer in Charge of a Military Transition Team supporting the 8th Iraqi Army Division. His department head tour was as Chief Engineer in USS PATRIOT (MCM 7). Selected for early command he reported aboard USS DEFENDER(MCM 2) as the Executive Officer in December 2013.
Ashore, LT Dennis served in the Operations Directorate (J3) as the Knowledge Management Branch Chief at Headquarters United States European Command.
His personal decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal (1 oak leaf cluster), and Navy Achievement Medal (2 Gold Stars), as well as various service unit and campaign awards.
