SASEBO, Japan – USS AVENGER (MCM-1) would like to congratulate the following Sailors for their hard work and dedication in earning Sailor of the Year, Junior Sailor of the Year, Blue Jacket of the Year, and Blue Jacket of the Quarter, respectively, PS1(SW) Thomas Sorenson, DC1(SW) Robert Thomas, MN3(SW) Jonathan Cedeno, and MNSN Juan Casas. Through their leadership and devotion to duty, they have set themselves apart as exceptional Sailors on board AVENGER.

USS AVENGER (MCM-1) would also like to congratulate MN3(SW) Jose Arregui and MN3(SW) Joshua Sinsheimer for earning their Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist qualifications. Through dedication and hard work, they have joined the ranks of the most knowledgeable Sailors on the waterfront.

USS AVENGER (MCM 1), commanded by LCDR Patrick Sullivan, was commissioned 12 September 1987, and reports to Commander, Amphibious Force Seventh Fleet, Rear Adm. J. Scott Jones, who is headquartered in Okinawa, Japan.
