CDR Dawn T. Ricketts
Executive Officer

A native of Fairfield, California, Commander Dawn Ricketts enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1991. She served tours in Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing One (CPRW 1), USS Cape Cod (AD 43), and USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) prior to being selected for the Seaman-to-Admiral Commissioning Program. She graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and was commissioned an Ensign in 2002. She holds a Master of Science degree in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego.

At sea, CDR Ricketts served in USS Stethem (DDG 63) as the Combat Information Center Officer during the development and operational testing and evaluation of the Tactical Tomahawk Weapon System. Subsequent to this tour she served as the Training Officer in USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), circumnavigating South America in support of Partnership of the Americas multi-national naval exercise. Following a shore assignment she served as the Operations Officer in USS Dewey (DDG 105) during the development and operational testing of the Standard Missile 6 to include the first ever at-sea firing. She reported to MCM Crew CONFLICT in March 2013 as the Executive Officer embarked in USS PIONEER (MCM 9) and USS ARDENT (MCM 12). In November 2014 she fleeted-up to Commanding Officer serving on USS DEVASTATOR (MCM 6) and USS SCOUT (MCM 8). During this tour she completed two deployments, to include the heavy lift of four Surface MCMs to the FIFTH FLEET AOR. In June 2017 she reported to USS ANCHORAGE (LPD 23) where she currently serves as the Executive Officer.

Ashore, CDR Ricketts served as Seamanship and Navigation Instructor and Senior Class Advisor at NROTC, San Diego. Her most recent assignment was as an exercise designer and Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training MCM Lead at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center, MIW Division.

CDR Ricketts' awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Navy Good Conduct Medal, and various campaign, expeditionary and unit awards. She is also the recipient of the Arleigh Burke Leadership Award.
