|Captain John V. Menoni
Captain Menoni is from Oak Park, IL. He attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and received his commission on 3 July 1991. He has also earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration, a certificate in Systems Analysis from NPS, JPME-1 credit from the Naval War College and JPME-2 credit from the Joint Staff College.
Captain Menoni attended naval flight training in Pensacola, Florida, receiving his wings in October 1993. He is qualified as a pilot in both the H-46 Seaknight and MH-60S Knighthawk. He has served multiple operational flying tours culminating in command of both Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWENTY FIVE based at Andersen AFB, Guam, and the 2515th Naval Air Ambulance Detachment which was forward deployed to Udari Army Air Field, Kuwait during OIF.
He has also served as an Instructor Pilot, a CSG Flag Lieutenant, the Helicopter Sea and Assistant Captain Detailer for PERS-43, and as a Planner for USFK, CENTCOM, JTF-435/ISAF, and AFRICOM/JTF ODDESSY DAWN while at JFCOM and he was subsequently designated a JQO. Captain Menoni served as the Executive Officer for USS SAN DIEGO (LPD 22) from November 2012 to January 2014 and assumed command February 7, 2014.
Captain Menoni's personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2), the Meritorious Service Medal (3), and the Air Medal Strike-Flight (2).
