|CDR Cristina Marecz
A native of San Diego, California, CDR Marecz graduated from University of Idaho, receiving a B.S. in Political Science. She was commissioned in May 1997 through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program.
Her initial tour was on the pre-commissioning crew of USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD 52) as the First Division Officer. Following her initial sea tour, she was assigned to the staff of Commander, Amphibious Group THREE as Action Officer for Plans and Maritime Prepositioning Force. Her next assignment was aboard USS ANCHORAGE (LSD 36) as Assistant Operations and Combat Information Center Officer. She reported to Tactical Training Group Pacific as the Assistant Amphibious Syndicate. Following Department Head school, CDR Marecz reported to USS PELELIU (LHA 5), as Combat Systems Officer, with a second Department Head tour as the Force Protection Officer and Combat System Officer on the staff of Commander, Amphibious Squadron THREE. In May 2007, she reported to Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific as the International Training Division Head. During this tour, she received her Masters in Forensic Science from National University. In 2009, CDR Marecz deployment to Iraq where she commanded Delta Company, Task Force Courage, United Stated Forces, Iraq. Her company was responsible for the administrative and logistical support for two training academies, two National Transition Team Headquarters and 16 National Transition Teams throughout the country of Iraq. Following her GSA tour, she was assigned to LSD/LPD 17 CLASSRON as N3/N7; later absorbed by COMNAVSURFPAC as N44, Waterfront Support.
Personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon and other service awards.
