CDR Jon Duffy is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and a 1994 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Physics.
His first sea assignment was as Gunnery Officer, Strike Officer and Main Propulsion Assistant in USS ELLIOT (DD 967). CDR Duffy’s second Division Officer tour was in USS PRINCETON (CG 59) where he served as the Fire Control Officer and Air Defense Officer. As a Department Head, CDR Duffy served as Operations Officer onboard USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) and USS PORT ROYAL (CG 73) deploying aboard both ships in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM. His Executive Officer tour was in USS PINCKNEY (DDG 91).
Ashore, CDR Duffy has served as the Executive Assistant to the Navy’s Chief of Legislative Affairs in Washington D.C., as the Flag Aide to Commander, Naval Surface Forces, and he was assigned as the U.S. Naval Academy’s 19th Company Officer, earning a Master’s Degree in Leadership Education and Human Resource Development from the Naval Postgraduate School through the Company Officer Master’s Program.
